Sometimes it staggers me the ammount of websites that don’t collect user information. You should offer valuable information to your user but you should also turn that one time visitor into a long time subscriber. The best current way to do this is to use email collection software and the three best and most common services you can use are getresponse, aweber and mailchimp.
Each of these services have distinct advantages and disadvantages. When someone comes to your site you can setup a capture form for that visitors email. They then have to go into their email account and confirm the request once they have done that they are on your mailing list and you can build your list and send out emails promoting posts, service or whatever you fancy to your email list.
You need to start collecting emails for your website. Remember “the money is in the list”. So which provider is the best? Well usually you will have most people say aWeber as its the most popular or some people say mail-chimp as it allows you to have 1000 users for free before you pay anything. The only real problem comes is if you want to change your provider. You can’t easily move your subscribers from one account to another. Mail chimp may be free but they are far stricter than either aweber and get response when it comes to what they have problems with in terms of your content. Which i always think is a bit strange. They can ban your account for sending affiliate offers. Madness if you ask me. So as far the mailchimp comparison this is as far as it goes. Get mailchimp if you are really reluctant to pay any money for an email service. But you might regret it if you decide that you need to change accross to another service at a later date.
If you haven’s started email marketing before you may wonder which service is the easiest to setup and start working with. Well I would say it’s a toss up between aweber and get response with get response having more options.
You can also send out emails using premade templates although i never really do this myself. I usually just send out plain text. both aweber and get response have excellent premade email templates around 500 each which is way more than enough.
The message builder.
I love get responses message build and awebers is also very very good but i would give the slight edge to get response. THe autorepsonder and analytics are also way better for get response.
As a conclusion i much prefer almost everything about get response to aweber. both are excellent services and i’m sure you would be happy with either but if i had to pick one i would choose get reponse.
